About the Event

DFW musician Jonathan Valenzuela is a guitarist, pianist, accompanist, arranger, and educator. Beginning with piano lessons at age 8 and classical guitar at age 14, Jonathan has pursued music at a professional level, performing at venues like the Meyerson Symphony Center, George W. Bush Presidential Library, Meadows Museum, Latino Cultural Center and similar locales in the metroplex.

His academic career consists of a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts. Jonathan has performed in masterclasses for some of the world’s greatest artists, including Meng Su, Sergio Asaad, and David Russell. Under the tutelage of world-renowned classical guitarist Robert Guthrie, he has completed a Master of Music in Guitar Performance and is currently pursuing a Performer’s Diploma

In addition to his private teaching, Jonathan is the teacher coordinator and keyboard/guitar instructor at Yamaha Music School Plano and teaches beginner/intermediate guitar courses at Southern Methodist University. He is also the accompanist of local music studio Heidi Burton Voice and has taught at a variety of music schools throughout the metroplex.
